300,000 Vulnerable Households To Benefit From Senator Yari’s Ramadan Welfare Package
Senator Abdul’aziz Yari has concluded arrangements for the 2025 annual Ramadan welfare for over 300,000 vulnerable households.
The Chairman, Publicity Committee of Sen. Yari’s Political Organization, Alhaji Ibrahim Danmadami, disclosed this to newsmen when he paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Gusau on Wednesday.
Yari, the former governor of the state is representing Zamfara West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
Danmadami a former Chairman of Zamfara NUJ Council and former State Commissioner of Information, noted that the gesture is targeting to feed a total of 300,000 vulnerable and less-privileged households across the 14 local government areas of the state.
“This year’s package is greater than that of last year, which benefited 250,000 households across the state.
“The food items comprise assorted grains and other essential commodities.
“As I am speaking now, all the beneficiaries have already been identified by the committees at various levels,” he added.
He noted that the gesture is all about providing support to the vulnerable households that require assistance during the holy month of Ramadan.
“You know, Yari’s gesture is for everyone, therefore the gesture is to support humanity not about politics.
“All the assorted food items allocated to the 14 LGAs of the state has already been transported.
“The distribution will take place in the first day of Ramadan,” he said.
Danmadami commended the state NUJ leadership for providing the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) center at the State NUJ Secretariat.
According to him, the center would go along way in assisting journalists to work easily in news reporting.
“This is a welcome initiative and it will improve capacity building among working journalists in the state,” he noted
Responding, the State NUJ Chairman, Ibrahim Maizare commended the former Commissioner for the visit.
Maizare promised to initiate more projects to enhance capacity building of journalists in the state.
